About EV Charging

Level l is the slowest type of charging equipment. Ll chargers plug directly into astandard 120 Volt (V) AC outlet supplying anaverage power outputof 1.3 KW to 2.4 KW.This power output isequivalent to 5-8 KMs ofEV range per hour. Usually you will get this type of charger when you purchase your electrical vehicle for at home charging.

Level 2 EV charging system delivers an electrical current from an outlet or hardwired unit to the vehicle via the connector, similar to a standard issue charger and is recommended for home charging. However, Level 2 car chargers need a 208-240 Volt, 40 AMP circuit. Level 2 charging adds about 40 KMs of range per hour. Level 2 charging coupled with an intelligent electrical management system is the most common solution in multi family and commercial applications.

Level 3 Charger is the Level 3 charging is the fastest type of charging available and can recharge an EV at a rate of 5 to 32 KMs of range per minute. Unlike Level 1 and Level 2 charging that uses alternating current (AC), Level 3 charging uses direct current (DC).
